Every year in the third week of August, to celebrate Kadayawan, the people of the city form a group and pay tribute to the fox. To celebrate this day people do street dance, Participate in Prade, show their culture and tradition. This Festival is celebrated in the city of the Phillipines whose name Davao. The meaning of kadayawan in the Dabawenyo language is valuable, good, beautiful.
They put vegetables, fruits, grains, rice outside in front of their house on a mat and used to thank God for giving a new year.
History :
In 1986, due to the unrest spread among the people due to Martial Law, an attempt was made to bring unity among the people.
In 1988 this festival was renamed Kadayawan Mahotsav by Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. This festival has completed 30 years. Even today this festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm.
