National Day of the People's Republic of China – Tue, 1 Oct, 2024 | History | Download Images, Photos, Pictures, Wishes, and Quotes

The National Day of China is October 1, an annual public holiday celebrated in the People's Republic of China. This day marks the end of the ruling family's rule and the march towards democracy. It is an important milepost in the rich history of the People's Republic of China.

The beginning of the Chinese Revolution in 1911 put an end to the monarchy and spurred the wave of democracy in China. It was the result of the efforts of nationalist forces to achieve democratic standards.

China's National Day celebrates the start of the Wuchang Uprising that eventually led to the end of the Qing Dynasty and later the creation of the People's Republic of China. On October 1, 1949, the leader of the Red Army, Mao Zedong, proclaimed the founding of the People's Republic of China in Tiananmen Square in front of 300,000 people while waving the new Chinese flag.

The declaration came after a civil war in which communist forces defeated the nationalist government. On December 2, 1949, at a meeting of the Central People's Government Council, the First National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) approved the proclamation of October 1 as China's National Day.

National holidays are of paramount importance, not only culturally, but also to represent independent states and the current system of government.
