World Braille Day is celebrated every year to spread the awareness of Braille (language for blinds) as a full fledged communication medium amongst the blinds, visually impaired or partially blinds.

What is Braille?

Braille is a language used by partially sighted and completely blind people. In braille each symbol, numerics, scientific numbers or even musical notation can be represented by 6 dots.

History of World Braille Day

It was invented by Louis Braille who was born in the 19th century. He has done a great contribution to mankind.

International Braille day was constituted in 2019 by United Nations to honor Louis Braille, inventor of Braille.

He was born on 4 January 1809 and died on 6 Jan 1852.

He invented this way of life when he was just 15 years of age.

Celebrate Braille Literacy

Braille is now used all over the world and now much easier to understand by blinds and partially sighted people. It is our moral duty to spread the message of Braille in the whole world.
